For more than 50 years, John Spak has occupied the intersection of ancient internal arts and modern mechanical reality. As a Retired Electrical Engineer<\/strong>, John approaches martial arts not as a collection of rituals, but as a sophisticated system of human architecture and force transmission.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    John was a principal “indoor” student to some of the most respected masters of the last century, inheriting systems that were once reserved for the Imperial Bodyguards of the Forbidden City.<\/strong>

    • Cha Chuan (Imperial Longfist):<\/strong> Mastered the full system under Xu Gongwei<\/strong>, principle student of the legendary Yu Zhengshen (Head Instructor at the Huang Pu Military College).

    • Baguazhang & Internal Arts:<\/strong> John\u2019s expertise is built upon direct transmissions from the inner circles of the Chinese Internal Arts. He inherited the specific “Source Code” of the Forbidden City through two primary streams:<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Yin Style Baguazhang (The Imperial Lineage):<\/strong> John inherited the Yin Style lineage through Xu Gongwei<\/strong>, who was a close disciple of the legendary Master Zhao Yifan<\/strong>. As a true Imperial Bodyguard to the Empress Dowager Cixi<\/strong>, Zhao Yifan\u2019s methods were designed for the highest-stakes security environments in the Qing Dynasty. This is the foundation of the “Sovereign Architecture” taught at the Lab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Cheng Style Influence:<\/strong> John was also deeply influenced by Yang Guotai<\/strong>, who passed down the Cheng Style traditions. This exposure to the “viscous” power of Cheng style provided a comprehensive understanding of Baguazhang\u2019s diverse mechanical applications.

      John\u2019s mission is the restoration of Internal Resolution.<\/strong> He believes that “skill is not gained by association, but by diligent work.” By stripping away the “noise” of modern diluted sports, John helps students find the Hidden Filament<\/strong> and the Moving Root<\/strong>\u2014the same physics used by the heroes of the Silk Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Today, John operates the Surrey\/Vancouver Field Lab<\/strong>, where he continues to research, train, and decode the Imperial arts for a new generation of Sovereign Architects.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
